A year ago we tried Rendezvous before we knew about Skype NDI + Ecamm Live and it was equally as bad, with only 720p resolution, randomly freezing video, didn't work on Linux guests, and more. I really want to like Wirecast for its advanced layering, but I've been hitting major issues for over a year every time we try to use it for a project. After hours of testing, I closed Wirecast, we went back to Ecamm Live, and NDI guests and screen sharing are back to working 100%. These events were random, and would maybe work correctly the next time the same remote guest tried again.Īgain, I've had zero issues doing all this weekly for nearly a year with Ecamm Live, so it's hard to believe it's a Skype bug. In just hours of testing we had a screen share not show up (even though I could see it in Skype), other late-arriving guests would not show in NDI stream list, and some would still be listed in the NDI stream list after they left the Skype audio/video call. Some NDI streams from Skype may not show up. This is random and happened to both remote Windows and macOS guests.Ĥ. They may just end up being called "NDI Source", and all be named the same. As people come and go in a Skype call, the NDI Network streams may or may not be labeled. AutoLive doesn't fix this, I still have to click Go.ģ. If I click Go to push Preview to Live, it will fix itself. If someone joins a Skype call, and I swap the NDI feed to them, and they happen to be sending a different resolution their the previous guest, their webcam will be way off the original sizing in Live, not Preview.

This doesn't change in Preview, it changes in Live, so their webcam dimensions suddenly shrink or grow depending on if they are starting or stopping screen share. If I click Go to push Preview to Live, it will fix itself. Anytime a Skype guest shares their screen, their webcam resolution *may* change (I'm on 1Gb wired up/down, but they may not be). It's unusable, with these issues over just a few hours of testing with 3-5 remote people:ġ. This week I tried to go back to Wirecast while using Skype NDI. I've been using Ecamm Live for all my streaming with Skype NDI guests, which has worked flawlessly every week for a year.
